About Dr. Wheeler

Dr. Wheeler offers a full range of child-health services, including routine checkups, vaccinations and diagnostic services.

Expertise

Dr. Wheeler is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and is an American Academy of Pediatrics Fellow. He is also a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, American Society of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology, the Children’s Oncology Group, the Lexington Medical Association and the South Carolina Medical Association, among other organizations. In addition to providing comprehensive pediatric services in the practice setting, he serves as a preceptor for the Resident Continuity Clinic and as a medical student faculty advisor for the USC School of Medicine.

Background

A cum laude graduate of Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas, Dr. Wheeler earned his medical degree from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine in Columbia and completed his pediatric residency at Palmetto Health Children’s Hospital in Columbia, South Carolina. He then completed a pediatric hematology/oncology fellowship at Children’s Health of Atlanta/Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia.
