Sheena M. Vaccaro NP

About Sheena

Sheena is a board-certified adult-geriatric nurse practitioner with additional certifications in advanced cardiac, basic and pediatric life support. She has five years of experience caring for patients and has extensive training in trauma; intermediate, medical and surgical intensive care; and women’s health. Sheena most recently focused her practice on obstetrics, high-risk obstetrics and gynecologic services at Lexington Medical Center. 

Expertise

In addition to this clinical experience, Sheena has continued her education by completing a fetal monitoring course through the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses and pursuing board certification in advanced diabetes management. She also champions continuing education as the nurse practitioner clinical preceptor for Women’s Health at Lexington Medical Center, teaching early pregnancy and contraception management for the hospital’s Nurse Practitioner Fellowship Program, and as chair of the Capitol Nurse Practitioner Group’s Continuing Education Committee.

Background

Sheena graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, and earned her master’s degree as a primary care nurse practitioner from South University. While earning her advanced practice degree, she assessed and cared for post-anesthesia patients at Lexington Medical Center.
