Background

Dr. Schmidt graduated from the University of South Carolina in Columbia with a bachelor’s degree in biology and earned her medical degree from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine in East Lansing, Michigan. She then completed her internal medicine residency at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in Saint Joseph, Michigan, serving as chief resident and on numerous committees, including the Medical Quality Committee, the Documentation Quality Committee and the Graduate Medical Education Committee.
